- This is a fairly vague question and really the best certification depends on your skill-set. HTML Certification - If I were to go near this, I would opt for XHTML and CSS because these are the latest Web 2.0 markup languages that are used in industry today. However, a certification in this area would certify you as a designer rather than a developer. JavaScript Certification - This is a client-side scripting language, JavaScript typically lives within the HTML/XHTML and can be very powerful in manipulating your web pages. A certification in JavaScript would be better than HTML, but obviously the prerequisit would be to know HTML. ASP Certification - I would deffinately recommend a certification in Microsoft ASP.NET as this is deffinately a developer area. Prerequisits, you need to learn and understand either VB.NET and/or C#, and optionally, JavaScript will help. WHY: Because it will enable you to build very robust and powerful websites. It is also a fairly new technology, and in demand, and you will be working on the cutting edge (if you so wish). Because of these factors, you will also earn a larger salary over the other certifications. Microsoft offer certifications starting at "Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist", to become a certified TS ASP.NET Developer you must take two exams, 70-536 (Application Development Foundation) and 70-562 (ASP.NET Application Development).
- I would go for ASP because you can do the most things with it because it is from the server and you can still create webpage like html, and dynamic stuff like javascript. ASP, for a nonexperinced, computer programmer would be a bit harder though. Still to be a server programmer ( the ones that can make email prgrams and other cool stuff) ASP.
